MISSION:
"Promotes housing stability and economic independence among poor families and youth of New York City, through the provision of transitional shelter, homelessness prevention services, self-sufficiency education, and supportive housing. Nazareth provides temporary shelter for the homeless as well as permanent housing for the formerly homeless, elderly and disabled. Nazareth serves low-income area residents, teenage parents, the homeless, and others struggling to support themselves and their families. Our clients are most often single young mothers with children under 3 years old. The majority of clients are Latina and African American between the ages of 18 and 30, who are coping with a range of social problems."
